Electrostatic discharge, or ESD occurs when a non-conducting surface
comes in contact with another surface, and are then separated. This causes a spark between the two surfaces and can cause major damages. ESD can damage or destroy sensitive electronic components, erase or alter magnetic media, or set off explosions or fires in flammable environments. According to RTP, each year, an estimated 40 billion dollars in losses from ESD damage occurs in the electronics industry alone. With our customers in mind LA Container offers ESD Inhibiting containers to help keep your workplace safe.
Blue Anti-static (BAS) Material is a permanent anti-static material, meaning the material will not “Leach out” or degrade over time. This makes this material great for the long-term storage or transportation of sensitive electronic equipment, semi conductors or lab equipment that can be damaged from the smallest of electronic shocks.
This BAS Material is REACH, RoHS and FDA compliant and has no latex or dry rubber added to the material from the manufacturer. More technically, containers made from this material have a surface resistivity of 10^8 to 10^10, with a static decay rate of 5 kVs to 50V, in less than 200 nanoseconds. Our BAS containers come in a translucent blue color that gives it an easily recognizable appearance.
Our BAS Polypropylene Containers are available in an either round or square shape in many different sizes and all come with either a hinged lid or a detachable lid design.
If clear ESD containers are needed, then we recommend our ABS-BAS material. This material offers the same great protection as the standard BAS but is transparent for easy content viewing.
This lid is significant in that it provides maximum product security and also allows the containers to be stacked for optimal organization. All of our ESD containers are manufactured in the USA.
